Join Our APTA CT DEI Book Club: The Connection Cure!

Reconnect, Revitalize, Revolutionize Your PT Practice!

In Julia Hotz’s groundbreaking book “The Connection Cure,” discover how healthcare professionals are shifting from asking “What’s the matter with you?” to “What matters to you?”

Through science and patient stories, explore how social prescriptions—referrals to community activities like art workshops, nature experiences, and volunteer opportunities—effectively address chronic pain, depression, anxiety, and mobility challenges.

As PTs, we’re perfectly positioned to champion this approach! Connecticut’s all-terrain wheelchair program offers a real-world example, with free rentals available at state parks including Dinosaur State Park, Topsmead Forest, Gillette Castle, Rocky Neck, and Harkness Memorial.

Join us to discuss integrating movement, nature, art, service, and belonging into treatment plans—creating pathways for all patients, especially those with disabilities, to experience the healing power of connection.
