Current Connecticut Requirement (Effective January 1, 2026)
Under Public Act 25-97, which amended Connecticut General Statutes § 20-73b, licensed physical therapists must complete:
- 20 hours of continuing education (CE) each annual registration period (existing requirement).
- At least 2 hours of ethics and jurisprudence education as part of those 20 hours
In summary:
The Department of Public Health continues to require:
- 20 CE hours annually
- Documentation retained for 3 years
- No carryover of CE hours
- Internet-based courses are acceptable if related to physical therapy practice
